Description

The Discraft ESP Joy midrange is Paige Pierce's easy-to-control midrange, molded in ESP plastic. It's built for players who want distance without forcing the shot, and it's at its best on touch shots, woods lines, and straight shots. This listing is the Paige Pierce First Run release of the Joy. Paige Pierce is a 5x World Champion.

ESP Plastic

ESP is Discraft's premier opaque, swirled plastic. It balances a gummy-yet-firm, tacky grip with high durability, which makes it a favorite for all-around everyday play. Your Joy in ESP will hold its flight well over time while giving you more grip than Discraft's harder Z plastic.

The Mold

The Joy's 4 speed makes it comfortable and manageable, its 5 glide helps it carry forward with ease, and its -1 turn gives just enough movement to work straight, flip up, or drift slightly right for RHBH. The 1 fade finishes with a gentle push instead of a hard dump.

Stability

The Joy is neutral. Neutral discs fly straight and true with very little turn or fade. For right-hand backhand (RHBH) throwers, it flies straight with only a slight drift left as it slows down. Left-hand backhand (LHBH) throwers will see the mirror image, with a gentle drift right at the finish. Forehand flights flip that pattern: right-hand forehand (RHFH) follows the LHBH line and left-hand forehand (LHFH) follows the RHBH line. It's an easy choice for beginners and a reliable tool for experienced players.

Flight Numbers

Rating Value What it means
Speed 4 Slow putter speed, easy to control without much power.
Glide 5 Lots of glide to help it stay in the air and add distance.
Turn -1 A touch of high-speed turn to the right (RHBH) for a little extra distance.
Fade 1 Very little fade, so it finishes nearly straight.
