In the standard configuration, the insert barrel goes on the bottom (board side) with the insert facing the hanger, and the gumdrop goes on top (road side) with the rounded side toward the washer. You can also run double insert barrels or double gumdrops. For a less restrictive, more linear turn, swap the included cup washers for flat washers.
