The MVP Proton Trail distance driver is James Conrad's stable-understable 10-speed driver, molded in Proton plastic. It's built for throwers of all power levels, and it's at its best on hyzer-flip drives and turnovers. This listing is the James Conrad 2025 Halloween Special Edition release of the Trail, so you get the same trusted flight with a collectible look.

Proton Plastic

Proton is MVP's original premium blend: a translucent core with stunning optical clarity and vibrant candy colors, paired with a black GYRO rim. It's designed for high durability and a long, consistent life, even in the roughest conditions. Proton has similar durability to Neutron with slightly more grip, and the translucent core looks great with an LED light for night rounds. The Trail is also available in Fission, Neutron and Particle Proton.

The Mold

The Trail is a 21.2 cm distance driver with a 20 mm rim. The Trail is the first official 10-speed driver in the MVP lineup, and, like you'd expect from a Conrad disc, it excels at hyzer-flip drives and turnovers. Throwers of all power levels will find it exceptionally responsive for a variety of shot shapes.

Stability

The Trail is stable-to-understable. Understable discs turn away from your throwing arm at speed, making turnovers and hyzer-flips easier and helping lower-power players fly straight. For right-hand backhand (RHBH) throwers, it tends to drift right during the fastest part of its flight, then shows a gentle fade back to the left at the end. Left-hand backhand (LHBH) throwers will see the mirror image, drifting left early and fading right at the end. Forehand flights flip that pattern: right-hand forehand (RHFH) follows the LHBH line and left-hand forehand (LHFH) follows the RHBH line. It suits beginners who need help getting straight flights as well as advanced players who want to shape turnovers.

Flight Numbers

Rating Value What it means
Speed 10 Distance-driver speed that needs good arm speed to fly as rated.
Glide 5 Lots of glide to help it stay in the air and add distance.
Turn -1 A touch of high-speed turn to the right (RHBH) for a little extra distance.
Fade 1 Very little fade, so it finishes nearly straight.
