The MVP Particle Glow Proton Wave distance driver is MVP's stable-understable 11-speed distance driver, molded in Particle Glow Proton plastic. It's built for players across the power spectrum, and it's at its best on gliding turnovers, hyzer-flips, and extended distance lines. This listing is the OTB Open 2025 Champions Cup release of the Wave, so you get the same trusted flight with a collectible look.
Particle Glow Proton Plastic
Particle Glow Proton suspends glowing particles inside MVP's durable, translucent Proton plastic, creating a starry, textured look. Under UV light, the particles shine while lighting up the base color. It tends to have a slightly softer, gummier feel than standard Proton, which improves thumb traction, while keeping Proton's rugged durability. The Wave is also available in Cosmic Neutron, Eclipse, Fission and Neutron.
The Mold
The Wave is a 21.1 cm distance driver with a 21 mm rim. MVP describes the Wave as a longer Inertia, with a stable-understable flight and responsiveness that make it useful across the power spectrum. It's available from 145 to 175 grams, and players often bag it in two or more weights for shot variety. Power throws produce long, gliding turnovers and hyzer-flip gut shots, while average throws extend everything from anhyzers to headwind-assisted turnovers.
Stability
The Wave is stable-to-understable. Understable discs turn away from your throwing arm at speed, making turnovers and hyzer-flips easier and helping lower-power players fly straight. For right-hand backhand (RHBH) throwers, it tends to drift right during the fastest part of its flight, then shows a gentle fade back to the left at the end. Left-hand backhand (LHBH) throwers will see the mirror image, drifting left early and fading right at the end. Forehand flights flip that pattern: right-hand forehand (RHFH) follows the LHBH line and left-hand forehand (LHFH) follows the RHBH line. It suits beginners who need help getting straight flights as well as advanced players who want to shape turnovers.
