by
Axiom Discs
SKU: DG-AXM-PLC-NS-PITCH (REF2547-8)
Description
The Axiom Neutron Soft Pitch hybrid catch putter is Axiom's hybrid catch disc and uniquely glidey approach disc, molded in Neutron Soft plastic. It's built for players who want a fun warm-up disc that's also a real approach tool, and it's at its best on soft, glidey approaches and warm-up catch.
Neutron Soft Plastic
Neutron Soft gives you the premium look, bright opaque colors, and Proton-level durability of Axiom's flagship Neutron blend with a softer, more flexible feel in the hand. That extra flex helps your Pitch settle where it lands instead of skipping away. Like standard Neutron, it holds its flight for a long time.
What Is Project Lab Coat?
Project Lab Coat (PLC) is the visual refresh of the MVP Disc Sports and Axiom Discs lineups, MVP's commitment to making sure their discs are the best they can be today, not what made sense a decade ago. Most MVP and Axiom stock stamps were 10 to 15 years old, so PLC brings fresh designs built on MVP's multi-foil stamping. Axiom keeps its signature colorful GYRO rims, and black rims are joining the Axiom color mix.
Why it's a win: the flight and plastic don't change. PLC discs come from the same molds and plastic, made in the same Marlette, Michigan facility, so this Pitch flies just like the pre-PLC "Classics," with a fresh, modern look.
The Mold
The Pitch is a 21.2 cm hybrid catch disc with a 7 mm rim. Similar to its immensely popular cousin, the MVP Glitch, the Pitch is a hybrid catch disc built as a fun way to warm up, while being a uniquely glidey approach disc on its own. It has a refined wing and a slightly more rounded hand feel than the Glitch, making it just a bit less stable while keeping the glide you'd expect.
Stability
The Pitch is neutral. Neutral discs fly straight and true with very little turn or fade. For right-hand backhand (RHBH) throwers, it flies straight with only a slight drift left as it slows down. Left-hand backhand (LHBH) throwers will see the mirror image, with a gentle drift right at the finish. Forehand flights flip that pattern: right-hand forehand (RHFH) follows the LHBH line and left-hand forehand (LHFH) follows the RHBH line. It's an easy choice for beginners and a reliable tool for experienced players.
Flight Numbers
| Rating | Value | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | 1 | Slow putter speed, easy to control without much power. |
| Glide | 7 | Huge glide that floats a long way with little effort. |
| Turn | -0.5 | A touch of high-speed turn to the right (RHBH) for a little extra distance. |
| Fade | 0 | No fade, so it finishes straight. |
