Description

The AGL Woodland Ponderosa putter is AGL's understable, super-glidey putter, molded in Woodland plastic. It's built for beginners and veterans alike, and it's at its best on long, straight putts and arcing turnover approaches. Made in the USA by family-owned AGL, the Ponderosa is ready to take your game Above Ground Level.

Woodland Plastic

Woodland is AGL's baseline plastic, made with recycled and regrind material to minimize waste. Original Woodland was made at Gateway and could run softer or firmer depending on the mix. AGL's newer Woodland runs are made by Innova with 20-40% regrind from Innova's Nexus plastic, and AGL says it has incredible grip and texture for amazing putting and control. AGL notes most Woodland runs come out fairly flat compared to Alpine.

About AGL Discs

AGL, short for Above Ground Level, is a family-owned disc golf company run by the Jones family and Northern California's #1 disc golf manufacturer. All AGL discs are made in the USA, and AGL is committed to discs that are more durable than the competition so they keep a proper flight path for a longer lifespan. Every mold is named after a tree as part of AGL's "Treeline" theme, and AGL's plastics use recycled and regrind material to minimize waste while flying just as well.

The Mold

AGL says the Ponderosa takes a lot of the work out of putting. It pops up and flies straight and long for slower arms, and gives long, arcing turnover shots for players with more power. Its glide makes it a great circle 2 putter too. It's the least stable of the AGL putters, with each of the others adding another level of fade.

Stability

The Ponderosa is understable. Understable discs turn away from your throwing arm at speed, making turnovers and hyzer-flips easier and helping lower-power players fly straight. For right-hand backhand (RHBH) throwers, it tends to drift right during the fastest part of its flight, then finishes straight or keeps drifting right. Left-hand backhand (LHBH) throwers will see the mirror image, drifting left early. Forehand flights flip that pattern: right-hand forehand (RHFH) follows the LHBH line and left-hand forehand (LHFH) follows the RHBH line. It suits beginners who need help getting straight flights as well as advanced players who want to shape turnovers.

Flight Numbers

Rating Value What it means
Speed 2 Slow putter speed, easy to control without much power.
Glide 4 Moderate glide that carries without sailing past the target.
Turn -2 Noticeable turn to the right (RHBH) at speed, great for turnovers and hyzer-flips.
Fade 0 No fade, so it finishes straight.
