This listing includes a set of 2 NOS (New Old Stock) Gullwing Street Shadow 850 Trucks. These are vintage skateboards produced by Gullwing sometime in the late 1980's. These trucks are from a time when Gullwing was trying to shave weight by using composite-plastic baseplates. As re-issue decks become more and more popular, the cache of vintage trucks is rapidly decreasing. These trucks measure 8.5" from tip to tip. The baseplates feature the long 2.5" old school bolt pattern. That means these trucks will only fit on old school boards or re-issues that have the old school bolt pattern. Please keep in mind that these trucks were produced in the 80's which means you probably want to replace the bushings before riding on them.

Gullwing 850 Old School 1980's NOS Trucks

Posted by John on 3rd May 2021

Crazy I never saw a set of these in the 80's and I've been skating since 1985! These trucks are SICK! Lightweight, super responsive, flawless design, and a superior higher grade non recycled HPG IV High Grade Aerospace Aluminum Hanger! The bushings are still usable on the set I got, and the Nostalgia of owning a pair of these is amazing! I always rode Gullwing trucks as a kid growing up in Oak Cliff where there's tons of downgrade hills and inclines and I never got the Death wobbles when using Gullwings. Of course I rode my trucks super tight for the sole purpose. Street Shadows, Super Pro III, Phoenix, and "Gullwing Magnesium" were the most expensive at the time! Get a set of these while you can! You won't regret it !!!

These are just beautiful to look at, the hangars are nice solid metal and have the gull wing design emblazoned on the front. I use these in all my builds, you simply cannot do better for the price. These were made in the USA and turn like a dream. The bushings are a bit old and stiff, but with a new set of bones mediums you are good to go. These straight up turn better than my Indys, there I said it. Beware of the old school bolt pattern on the baseplate, I always just drill out the board cuz once you do that, its yours!! Dont overlook gullwing, they may not have a cool logo and fancy t shirts but the performance is there. The composite base acts like a riser pad and they sit high and wide anyway. Mine came brand new in the bag, incredible. If you can find the gullwing "pro bolt" get one, its an indestructable grind king type kingpin that sits super low on the bushing. Mine also came with a premium SHR pivot cup in red, so much better than the hard plastic ones. Go on now and get you some....
