Description

The Powell Peralta Cab Ban This Black/Red Flight Deck gives you the Cab Ban This Black/Red graphic on a Flight deck built to outlast a 7-ply. It's shape 192 with K15 concave, measuring 9.265" x 32" with a 14.75" wheelbase.

In 1988, Powell-Peralta ran an "Artist Wanted" ad in TWS and Thrasher. Sean Cliver got the job, and when it came time to update the Caballero dragon, he emulated VCJ's style. The graphic was later dubbed Cab "Ban This" Dragon because it was featured prominently in that video. Originally released in 1988; artwork by Sean Cliver.

Who This Deck Is For

  • Bowl, pool, and transition skaters who want a big platform
  • Steve Caballero fans
  • Skaters who want a deck that outlasts a 7-ply
  • Skaters building a custom setup around their own trucks and wheels

Features

  • Flight construction: U.S. hard rock maple, fiberglass, and AirLam with epoxy
  • Shape 192, K15 concave
  • 9.265" x 32" with a 14.75" wheelbase
  • Made in the USA (Ventura, CA)

Benefits

  • Thinner and stronger than a 7-ply, per Powell
  • Pop that doesn't fade as the deck wears
  • Warranted by SkateOne against delamination for its useful life
  • Exact shape number, width, and wheelbase listed so you can match trucks before you buy

Why Flight Decks

Powell Peralta builds Flight decks differently from a standard 7-ply, using U.S. hard rock maple, high-strength fiberglass, and AirLam fused with epoxy resin. According to Powell:

  • Thinner: as thin as your phone.
  • Stronger: more than twice as strong in Powell's tail break tests.
  • Longer lasting: the epoxy-infused, fiber-reinforced structure is extremely resistant to breaking and gives "everlasting pop" that doesn't fade as the deck wears.
  • Higher ollies: greater rebound and snap.

Powell's team testing suggests Flight decks last several times longer than a 7-ply. They're made in the USA at Powell's factory in Ventura, CA, and warranted by SkateOne against delamination for their useful life.
