Description

The MVP Plasma Watt putter is MVP's high-glide, deep-profile putter, molded in Plasma plastic. It's built for players who want a workable putter that can also drive, and it's at its best on laser-straight drives, turnovers, and confident putts.

Plasma Plastic

Plasma is MVP's specialty premium blend, known for its metallic sheen and color-shift options. It's a semi-gummy, flexible polymer with superb grip, and MVP says few premium materials grip this well. It's also highly durable, so your Watt will hold its flight for a long time. Plasma is a great choice if you want premium durability with a little more grip and flex than Neutron or Proton. The Watt is also available in Cosmic Electron, Cosmic Neutron, Eclipse and Electron.

What Is Project Lab Coat?

Project Lab Coat (PLC) is MVP's lineup refresh, making sure their discs are the best they can be today, not what made sense a decade ago. Many stock stamps were 10 to 15 years old, so PLC brings new designs built on MVP's multi-foil stamping. Plasma stamps are getting minor refinements while keeping the same concept. Starting in 2026, every MVP plastic line moves to a white GYRO rim.

Why it's a win: the flight and plastic don't change. PLC discs come from the same molds and plastic, made in the same Marlette, Michigan facility, so this Watt flies just like the pre-PLC "Classics," with a fresh look and a white rim that's easier to spot on the course.

The Mold

The Watt is a 21.2 cm putt and approach disc with a 9 mm rim. The Watt exceeds expectations for how much glide a full-weight putter can have. Like its cousins the Ohm and Pilot, it's a deeper-profile putter that is exceptionally workable, producing laser-straight lines, beautiful turnovers, and a reliable grip for driving.

Stability

The Watt is neutral to stable. Neutral discs fly straight and true with very little turn or fade. For right-hand backhand (RHBH) throwers, it flies straight with only a slight drift left as it slows down. Left-hand backhand (LHBH) throwers will see the mirror image, with a gentle drift right at the finish. Forehand flights flip that pattern: right-hand forehand (RHFH) follows the LHBH line and left-hand forehand (LHFH) follows the RHBH line. It suits players of every skill level who want a predictable flight.

Flight Numbers

Rating Value What it means
Speed 2 Slow putter speed, easy to control without much power.
Glide 5 Lots of glide to help it stay in the air and add distance.
Turn -0.5 A touch of high-speed turn to the right (RHBH) for a little extra distance.
Fade 0.5 Very little fade, so it finishes nearly straight.

Discs That Pair Well With the Watt

FAQ

Is the MVP Watt good for beginners?

Yes. Its glide and neutral flight make the Watt easy to throw for distance and accuracy.

Is the MVP Watt overstable?

No. The Watt is a neutral to stable disc rated 2/5/-0.5/0.5, so it flies straight with very little fade.

What's the difference between Plasma and Neutron plastic?

Plasma is semi-gummy with a metallic sheen and some of the best grip in MVP's premium lineup. Neutron is firmer and opaque. Both are highly durable.

Does Project Lab Coat change how the Watt flies?

No. MVP says Project Lab Coat is solely a visual refresh. The Watt is made in the same mold, from the same plastic, in the same facility, so it flies exactly the same.

What disc is similar to the MVP Watt?

The MVP Electron Nomad (2/4/0/1.5) is another neutral-stable putter with a little less glide.

How far does the MVP Watt fly?

With an average arm, expect roughly 225 feet. Distance depends heavily on your power and form, so stronger throwers will go farther and newer players shorter.
