Innova Disc Golf Proto Glow Champion Firebird with Spirit of Detroit Stamp Driver
Description
The Innova Proto Glow Champion Firebird fairway driver is Innova's most popular upwind driver, molded in Proto Glow Champion plastic. It's built for players who need control in the wind and on forehands, and it's at its best on headwind drives and forehands. This one features TGM's custom Spirit of Detroit stamp.
Proto Glow Champion Plastic
Proto Glow is Innova's major upgrade over its older, fast-fading glow plastics. It glows significantly brighter and lasts much longer, holding visible illumination for 20 minutes or more. Proto Glow Champion is the premium, durable version with a glowing core. Designed for professional players, Champion discs are usually a little firmer and more stable than the same model in other plastics, and they keep performing predictably and avoid damage better than any other plastic, even on wooded or rugged courses.
The Spirit of Detroit Stamp
This Firebird carries our custom Spirit of Detroit stamp, a design TGM Skateboards created to honor the city. The Spirit of Detroit, the iconic bronze statue by Marshall Fredericks that has stood downtown since 1958, has long been a symbol of Detroit's people and their determination, and we're proud to celebrate it and the Metro Detroit disc golf community from our shop in Mt. Clemens.
You get the same trusted flight and plastic as any other Proto Glow Champion Firebird, with a stamp you won't find on the standard release. It's a great pick for your own bag, a gift for a Detroit fan, or a piece of local pride for your collection.
The Mold
The Firebird is an overstable driver that works extremely well into a headwind, and it's Innova's most popular upwind distance driver.
Stability
The Firebird is overstable. Overstable discs resist turning over and fade hard at the end, which makes them predictable in wind and at high power. For right-hand backhand (RHBH) throwers, it resists turning over and finishes with a strong, dependable fade to the left. Left-hand backhand (LHBH) throwers will see the mirror image, with that hard fade finishing to the right. Forehand flights flip that pattern: right-hand forehand (RHFH) follows the LHBH line and left-hand forehand (LHFH) follows the RHBH line. It's best suited to intermediate and advanced players, and it's a valuable utility disc for anyone who plays in wind.
