If you’ve been throwing MVP or Axiom discs for a while, you’ve probably noticed some big changes starting to roll out—and there’s a good reason behind them.
MVP Disc Sports has officially introduced Project Lab Coat (PLC), a company-wide initiative focused on updating the look and presentation of their discs while keeping the performance exactly the same.
So what does that mean for you?
First, expect to see refreshed stamp designs across much of the lineup. Many of MVP and Axiom’s stock stamps have been around for over a decade. While they’ve become familiar favorites, the brand has significantly advanced its design capabilities—especially with multi-foil stamping. These updates are all about bringing older designs up to today’s visual standards.
One of the biggest changes is the move to a white GYRO rim as the new standard for MVP discs starting in 2026. This replaces the traditional black rim and is intended to improve visibility on the course while creating a more consistent look across all plastics. If you’re a fan of the classic black rim, you’ll still be able to find these while supplies last.
It’s important to note that none of these changes affect how the discs fly. The molds, plastics, and production process remain exactly the same. This is purely a visual refresh.
We’ll also start to see some adjustments in availability. More popular molds will be offered in a wider range of plastics, while less common variations may become a little harder to find and not manufactured as much over time. This should make it easier to get the discs molds players are actually looking for—without overwhelming the lineup.
The rollout of these updates will happen gradually throughout 2026, with the most popular models being updated first. In the meantime, current “Classic” versions are still widely available and remain a great option—they perform exactly the same as the new releases. Although we are unsure how many "Classic" restocks we are going to be able to get over the coming months.
From our perspective, this is an exciting update. It keeps everything players love about MVP and Axiom intact, while giving the lineup a fresh, modern look, and improve visibility on the course.
