Griptape application is no doubt the most tedious part of setting up a skateboard, that's why the all the pro's and shop dudes use a griptape file to ensure smooth, clean edges.
The ergonomic handle features a rubber coating to ensure you don't get caught slippin. It is essential to have a firm grip while filing down griptape.
The steel part of the file measures 6" long and features a grooved surface to ensure maximum abrasion. Most griptape is made with silicon carbide so we engineered this tool to hold up against repeated filing. We tested both flat-style and round-style files and chose the round-style due to it's ease of use when gripping boards.
To use the file, peel the backing from your griptape and apply evenly to the top of your skateboard deck. Use the file along the top edges of the board to create an abrasive outline to make cutting griptape easier and more accurate.
This griptape file tool pairs well with other products offered in the Black Diamond tool line, including the roller, awl, and specialized griptape cleaner. Simplify grip application and never look back!
